Luck leads Men's Lacrosse to a 18-4 victory at Hendrix (Ark.) in spring break finale

CONWAY, Ark. — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team ended the spring break trip with an 18-4 win over Hendrix (Ark.) on Friday afternoon.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (5-3 Overall), Hendrix (2-6 Overall).
- Venue: Young-Wise Stadium - Conway, Ark.
- There was a 42-minute lighting delay between the first and second periods of the game.
The Game
- Sophomore Mitchel Luck (Linden, Mich.) finished the game with six points on four goals and two assists.
- Freshman Cooper Mulligan (Middletown/Bishop Fenwick) and sophomore Jack Chaney (Westerville/South) finished with two goals each in the game.
- Senior Alex Reimer (Lancaster N.Y.) and junior Colin Willits (West Chester/Lakota West) both finished with two goals as well.
- Senior Caleb Bennett (Stokesdale, N.C./Linganore) finished the game with four points on one goal and three assists.
- The Orange and Black started the game fast by going on a 3-0 run to open the first period.
- Mulligan would score back-to-back goals to open the second period to extend the Polar Bear lead to 5-1.
- The Warriors scored a goal with 3:10 left in the second period to make it 6-2 heading into halftime.
- Ohio Northern opened the second half with a 4-0 run to extend the lead to 10-2.
- The Polar Bears would lead 12-3 heading into the fourth period.
- ONU started off the fourth period hot, going on a 4-0 run to push the lead to 16-3.
- Ten different Polar Bears scored goals in the contest.
- Hendrix was led by Bennett Davidson, Austin Williams, and Matthew Parsons, who all scored goals.
- Freshman Peyton Lich (Palmyra, N.Y./Macedon) and senior Robert Brunner (Cincinnati/Indian Hill) combined for six saves to help get the win.
- ONU out-shot HC 58-17 and had the ground balls advantage 37-17.

- Sophomore Ryan Frech (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) leads the team in caused turnovers this season with 16 and in ground balls with 28.
- Senior Chad Calderwood (Portland, Ore./Episcopal) won 3 in faceoffs on the day, extending his school record to 475 for his career.
- He also has the career ground balls record with 217.
- Willits ranks fifth all-time in ONU history with 60 career goals.
- This was the first meeting between these two schools.
- Bennett ranks ninth all-time in ONU history with 30 career assists.
