NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team opened its spring break trip with a 13-4 loss to Franklin & Marshall (Pa.) on a picture perfect Monday afternoon.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (3-3 Overall), Franklin & Marshall (5-2 Overall).
- Venue: Ensworth Turf Field - Nashville, Tenn.
The Game
- Four different Polar Bears scored goals in the contest.
- The Diplomats scored the first five goals of the game, but sophomore Ryan Frech (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) got ONU on the board at the 13:54 mark of the second quarter.
- Senior Ian Roy (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) scored just 30 seconds later and the Polar Bears were within 5-2.
- FMC would score the next eight goals to take a commanding 13-2 lead.
- Ohio Northern kept fighting and held the Franklin and Marshall scoreless for the final 10:05 of the contest, while getting goals from junior Colin Willits (West Chester/Lakota West) and sophomore Mitchell Luck (Linden, Mich.) to make the final 13-4.
- Freshman Peyton Lich (Palmyra, N.Y. /Macedon) stopped nine of 13 shots in 26 minutes of second half action off the bench in goal.
- FMC out-shot ONU 55-26 and had the ground ball advantage 32-24.
