CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team wrapped up its annual spring break schedule with a 16-9 neutral site loss to Nazareth (Pa.) on Saturday morning at Wingate University.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (5-3 overall), Nazareth (5-3 overall)

The Game
- Freshman Mitchel Luck (Linden, Mich.) had a 3-goal hat trick to lead the Polar Bears.
- Senior Aidan Dempsey (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's College) added two goals for ONU.
- Fifth-year senior Tyler Ferguson (Springboro) and senior Sebastian Michaud (Springboro) each had two points on a goal and an assist for Northern.
- The Golden Flyers outscored Ohio Northern 7-3 in the second quarter to grab an 11-6 lead at halftime.
- The lead was 15-8 headed into the fourth quarter as the defenses took over as only two goals were scored in the final 15 minutes.
- Senior Cole Zaferakis (Liverpool, N.Y.) had 15 saves on 31 shots on goal for Ohio Northern.
- NU out-shot ONU 47-31 and won the ground ball battle 35-24.
Notables
- Dempsey now ranks fifth all-time in ONU history with 110 points in his career. He ranks fourth with 78 career goals and is sixth with 33 assists.
- Senior Chad Calderwood (Portland, Ore./Episcopal) won 15-of-22 faceoffs on the day, extending his school record to 346 for his career.
- Michaud is sixth at ONU with 63 career goals, is seventh with 29 assists and is sixth with 92 points.
- Fifth-year senior Riley O'Neal (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) is fifth with 37 career assists.
- Head coach Nat St.Laurent is in his ninth season at Ohio Northern with an 84-45 record and has a winning percentage of .651.
