ADA — The Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team opened its 2024 season with a snowy 13-5 home victory against St. Vincent (Pa.).

The Game
- Senior Aidan Dempsey (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's College) had four goals and two assists.
- Junior Ian Roy (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern) helps with two goals.
- Four other Polar Bears had a goal and an assist in the contest.
- Bearcats Caleb Hawkins and Liam McCall led with two goals each.
- The Polar Bears went on a 7-1 run to break a 2-2 tie and take a 9-3 lead 1:30 into the third quarter.
- Leading 9-5 entering the fourth quarter, Northern would score the game's final four goals to ice the win.
- Senior Cole Zaferakis (Liverpool, N.Y.) had eight saves in goal to pick up the victory.
- Ohio Northern out-shot St. Vincent 39-31, but SVC had a 36-28 advantage in ground balls and won 14-of-21 faceoffs.

- Dempsey has 61 career goals, putting him in the top five of ONU all-time career goal leaders. He is also sixth with 30 assists and fifth with 91 career points.
