ADA — Senior Riley O'Neal (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) and junior Aidan Dempsey (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's College) each scored two goals to lead the Ohio Northern men's lacrosse team in a 13-5 loss at Capital on Saturday at Bernlohr Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 10-5 overall and 5-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Comets improve to 11-4, 6-2.
Capital scored the first four goals and extended its lead to 8-3 by halftime.
Junior Andrew Caliri (Lexington, Mass.) also scored for ONU.
Capital's Mason Spaulding scored six goals to lead Capital.
Junior Chad Calderwood (West Linn, Ore./Episcopal) had five ground balls and senior Andrew Reimer (Lancaster, N.Y.) and Dempsey had four ground balls each for Ohio Northern.
ONU senior goalkeeper Cole Zaferakis (Liverpool, N.Y.) recorded nine saves in the game and is now 10-5 on the season.
Each team had 30 shots and Northern had a 39-34 advantage in ground balls.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Wednesday with a 7 pm home contest against Otterbein.
