ADA — Senior Max Weese (Hilliard/Darby) scored four goals and was one of 14 Ohio Northern players to score goals in a 23-3 Ohio Athletic Conference men's lacrosse victory over Heidelberg on Wednesday night at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears run their win streak to nine games and improve to 9-1 overall and are 3-0 in the OAC, while the Student Princes fall to 5-6, 2-1.
Senior Peter Hardt (Bethpage, N.Y./Plainedge) also had a hat trick with three goals for ONU.
Junior Cameron Marous (Brecksville) had two goals and three assists to join Weese with 5-point games.
Northern took control from the onset, scoring four goals in the first 3:39, and led 7-0 after the first period and 12-2 at halftime.
In all, Ohio Northern played all 56 healthy players, breaking the previous school record of 55 players set last week against Wilmington.
Sophomore Preston Victory (Brentwood, Tenn.) was 10-of-11 in the faceoff circle, winning his first 10 attempts in the process, and led ONU to a 22-7 advantage in that category.
ONU out-shot Heidelberg 58-22 and won the ground ball battle by a 42-24 margin.
Victory also had a team-high five ground balls and six different ONU goalies combined for five saves and limited HU to just three goals.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday with a 1 pm home game against Muskingum at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
