DeSimone wins Medalist honors, leads Men's Golf to victory at 5-team Capital Fall Classic

LANCASTER - Junior Joey DeSimone (Munroe Falls/Stow-Munroe Falls) won Medalist honors, leading the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a victory at the 5-team Capital Fall Classic on Saturday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished with an 18-over par 302 on the par-72 course.
- Capital was second with a 303, Otterbein was third with a 306, Marietta was fourth with a 309 and Heidelberg was fifth with a 332.

- DeSimone finished first of 51 golfers with a 2-under par 70.
- Freshman Dylan Potts (Dublin/Jerome) carded a 74 to finish fourth.
- Freshman Ian Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) tied for sixth with a 76.
- Senior Andrew Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) tied for 29th with an 82.
- Junior Bennett Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) had an 86.
- Playing on the ONU "B" team, junior Evan Dennison (Ashland/Mapleton) had a 76 to also tie for sixth.
Notables
- This was the sixth of nine tournaments Ohio Northern is scheduled to participate in this fall.
- ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 401-380-16 in his 12th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .514.
