WILLOUGHBY - The Ohio Northern men's golf team finished 11th of 20 teams at the NCAA Region V Preview tournament Saturday and Sunday.
The Basics
- The teams played 36 holes - 18 on Saturday and Sunday at Manakiki G.C. in Willoughby.
- Ohio Northern finished 11th of 20 teams with a 317-307—624 on the par-72, 6643-yard course.
- John Carroll won the team title with a 298-300—598, Otterbein was second with a 303-310—613, Wittenberg was third with a 294-322—616 and Mount Union was fifth with a 319-307—626.

- Senior Andrew Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) tied for 68th with a 78-82—160.
- Freshman Ian Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) tied for 78th with an 89-73—162.
- Junior Domenic Pilla (Highland Heights/St. Ignatius) tied for 90th with an 85-80—165.
- Playing as an individual, junior Joey DeSimone (Munroe Falls/Stow-Munroe Falls) tied for 55th with a 75-83—158.
Notables
- Manakiki G.C. played to a par of 72 over 6643 yards.
- This was the third of nine tournaments Ohio Northern is scheduled to participate in this fall.
- ONU head coach Chad Bucci is 385-376-16 in his 12th season at the helm of the men's program, a winning percentage of .506.
