HINCKLEY — Junior Adam Trigg (Cincinnati/Roger Bacon) and freshman Aashir Patel (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant) each posted top-10 finishes to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a third place finish at the 10-team Baldwin Wallace Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Pine Hills Golf Course.

The Basics

  • Ohio Northern was 3rd of 10 varsity teams with 299 strokes.
  • Record: Ohio Northern (24-6-2).
  • Venue: Pine Hills G.C. - Hinckley, Ohio
  • ONU head coach Chad Bucci improves to 346-334-15 in his 11th season at the helm.

Results

  • The Polar Bears shot a 299 to finish 15 over par on the 6572-yard, par-72 course.
  • Ohio Wesleyan won the tournament with a 295. Mount Union was second with a 297 and Capital was fourth with a 302.
  • Northern was second of the eight OAC schools competing in the tournament.
  • Ohio Wesleyan's Carson Harmon won Medalist honors with a 68.

ONU Individuals

  • Holdman finished tied for 5th out of 93 golfers with an even par 72.
  • Patel was eighth one shot back with a 73.
  • Junior David Walsh (Cincinnati/Moeller) and sophomore Joey DeSimone (Munroe Falls/Stow-Munroe Falls) tied for 25th with 77s.
  • Sophomore Anthony Naso (Grosse Ile, Mich.) tied for 33rd with a 78.
  • Playing on the ONU B team, senior Jacob Brooks (New Albany) tied for 41st with a 78.
