Men's Golf tied for fourth of seven teams after Day 1 of Music City Shootout

JOELTON, Tenn. — The Ohio Northern men's golf team is tied for fourth out of seven teams after the first round of the 36-hole Music City Shootout on Saturday at Nashville National Golf Links

The Polar Bears (18-23 overall) opened their spring season with a season-low 307.

Sophomore Andrew Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) and freshman Anthony Naso (Grosse Ile, Mich.) are tied for 12th out of 55 golfers with 5-over par 75s on the par-70, 6110-yard course.

Freshmen Bennet Christy (Plymouth, Ind.)is 17th with a 76, senior Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) is tied for 33rd with an 81 and sophomore Adam Trigg-Holdman (Cincinnati/Roger Bacon) is tied for 47th with an 87.

Franklin (Ind.) leads the team title with a 290, Wabash (Ind.) is second with a 296 and Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) is third with a 301.

Luke Poole of tournament host Rose-Hulman (Ind.) leads the individual standings with a 70.

The second and final round will be held on Sunday.
