Men's Golf finishes third at Trine (Ind.) Venturi Invitational

ANGOLA, Ind. —The Ohio Northern men's golf team finished third of three teams at the Trine (Ind.) Ken Venturi Invitational on Tuesday at the Zoellner Golf Course.
Trine won the team standings with a 203, Bluffton was second with 212 and Ohio Northern (7-9-1 overall) was third with a 214.
The teams competed with three pairings of golfers, who each played six holes of scramble, six holes of best ball and six holes of alternate shot in their 18-hole rounds.
Seniors Andrew Slusher (Covington) and Austin White (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) fired a 3-under par 68 on the 6384-yard course.
Senior Jared Hernandez (Van Wert) and freshman Andrew Briars (Maumee/Anthony Wayne) and senior Nolan Kimberly (Zanesville) and senior Sam Straker (Zanesville) each carded 73s.
ONU will return to action on Sept. 18-19 at the Bluffton Beaver Invitational.
