Men's Golf finishes second as a team at the Polar Bear Classic

HARROD — The Ohio Northern men's golf team finished second as a team at the Polar Bear Classic Friday at Colonial Golf Course in Harrod.
The Polar Bears (6-16-2 overall) finished second with 316 strokes. Muskingum edged ONU by four shots for the team title while Heidelberg was third with 341.
Junior Andrew Slusher (Covington) carded a 77 to finish tied for third of out of 27 golfers on the 6886-yard, par-72 course.
Junior Jared Hernandez (Van Wert) was fifth with an 80, sophomore Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) was ninth with an 80, junior Nolan Kimberly (Zanesville) was 11th with an 81 and senior Ethan Smith (Londonderry/Southeastern) was 16th with an 85.
Playing as an individual, Muskingum's Caleb Barnette won Medalist honors with a 71.
ONU junior Austin White (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) tied for third with a 77 as an individual.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11 in two Heidelberg Spring Classic tournaments at Mohawk Country Club in Tiffin.
