Men's Golf finishes fifth at Muskingum Spring Invitational

ZANESVILLE — Junior Nolan Kimberly (Zanesville) shot a season-low 74 to tie for third and lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a fifth place finish at a second Muskingum Spring Invitational on Monday at the Zanesville Country Club.
The Polar Bears (5-15-2 overall) finished fifth of five teams with 314 strokes and were only 12 shots off the lead in the tightly-contested battle.
Kimberly was just one shot off his career low of 73 to finish third of out of 33 golfers.
junior Andrew Slusher (Covington) tied for 13th with a 78, sophomore Josh Steyer (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) tied for 16th with a 79, junior Jared Hernandez (Van Wert) was 25th with an 83 and junior Austin White was 26th with an 84 for Ohio Northern.
Muskingum won the team title with a 302, Otterbein was second with a 304, Capital was third with a 308 and Marietta was fourth with a 311.
Marietta's Gage Herb won Medalist honors with a 75.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Friday when they host the Polar Bear Classic at Colonial Golfers Club.
