Colin Burns leads field after first round of 2012 OAC Men's Golf Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Ohio Northern sophomore Colin Burns fired a 2-under par 70 to take the first round lead on Day 1 of the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Tournament Friday at River Greens Golf Course.
Burns sits in first place out of 41 golfers through 18 of the 27 holes that were played on Friday. Results for the last nine holes played on Friday were not immediately available.
The Polar Bears (46-26-3 overall) are in third place, just eight shots out of first.
Otterbein leads with 302, John Carroll is second with a 307 and Capital is fourth with a 310.
Freshman Andrew Quintrell is tied for 11th with a 78, sophomore Ryan Wirtz tied for 24th with an 80, senior Phillip Caffee is tied for 29th with an 82 and senior Travis Ballinger is tied for 33rd with an 83.
The teams played 27 holes on Friday and 27 more on Saturday with the final 18 holes slated for Sunday.
