Men's Golf finishes fourth of seven at Cedarville Invitational
BEAVERCREEK -- Sophomores Colin Burns and Ryan Wirtz both posted top-10 finishes to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team at the Cedarville Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
The Polar Bears (42-26-3) finished fourth of seven teams with a 684.
Otterbein won the team title with a 655, Cedarville and Kentucky Wesleyan tied for second with 659s and Mount Vernon Nazarene was fifth with a 705.
Burns and Wirtz tied for eighth out of 38 golfers with 164s over the two windy days.
Round 1 was played Monday at the par-72, 7,030-yard Beavercreek Country Club and Round 2 was Tuesday at the par-72, 7,071 yard Country Club of the North in Beavercreek.
Senior Carson Foust tied for 20th with a 176 and sophomore Angelo Palmer and freshman Andrew Quintrell tied for 25th with 180s.
Cedarville's Jacob Forsythe won Medalist honors with an 80-78--158.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their regular season with the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Friday-Sunday at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
