Caffee's 76 leads Men's Golf to fourth place finish at Trine (Ind.) Eddy Invitational

ANGOLA, Ind. — Senior Phillip Caffee fired a 5-over par 76 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a fourth place finish at the Trine (Ind.) A.C. Eddy Invitational Tuesday at the Zollner Golf Course.
The Polar Bears (37-18-3) finished tied for fourth out of six teams with a 313.
Hope (Mich.) won the team title with 302 strokes, Trine (Ind.) was second with a 307, Owens C.C. was third with a 312 and Davenport (Mich.) tied ONU for fourth with a 313.
Caffee finished tied for ninth of of 51 golfers with a 39-37—76 on the par-71, 6,384-yard layout.
Sophomore Ryan Wirtz tied for 15th with a 37-40—77, senior Travis Ballinger and freshman Andrew Quintrell tied for 23rd with 80s and senior Angelo Palmer tied for 34th with a 41-42—83.
Trine's Todd Wisler and Davenport's Jackson Davidson tied for Medalist honors with 1-over par 72s.
The Polar Bears will return to action Sunday and Monday at the OAC Spring Invitational, hosted by Muskingum.
