Men's Golf shatters 36-hole school record with a 590 at Muskingum Spring Invitational

Zanesville —The Ohio Northern men's golf team shattered its 36-hole school record with a 590 to finish fourth at the Muskingum Spring Invitational at Eagle Sticks Golf Course Friday and Saturday.
The Polar Bears (36-15-2) finished with a 294-296—590, 13 shots better then the previous record of 603 set last April at the Heidelberg Invitational.
Otterbein won the team title with a 285-284—569, Denison was second with a 288-295—583 and Mount Union was third with a 299-286—585.
Sophomore Colin Burns fired a 6-over par 73-73—146 to lead Ohio Northern. He finished tied for seventh out of 71 golfers on the par-70, 6508-yard course.
Senior Travis Ballinger tied for 10th with a 75-72—147, sophomore Ryan Wirtz tied for 15th with a 73-76—149, senior Phillip Caffee tied for 32nd with a 73-81—154 and freshman Ted Loewendyck was 43rd with an 83-75—158 for ONU.
Mount Union's Colin Broughton won Medalist honors with a 6-under par 67-67—134.
The Polar Bears will return to action April 10 at the Trine (Ind.) Invitational.
