Men's Bowling finishes 5th of 17 at American Heartland Bowling Conference V tournament

WATERFORD, Mich. — The Ohio Northern men's bowling team finished 5th of 17 overall at the American Heartland Bowling Conference V tournament on Saturday.

The Basics

• Ohio Northern finished 5th of 17 teams with 5,897 pins.
• Venue: Spins Bowl / Century Lanes - Waterford, Mich.

ONU Individuals

• Freshman Sam King (DeGraff/Riverside) posted with a 5-game series of 1005, which included a high of 224.
• He averaged 201.0 pins per game and finished 19th overall.
• Freshman Jake Manbevers (Greenfield/Miami Trace) rolled a 987 for 5 games for a 197.4 average to finish 26th.
• Freshman Giovanni Scanio (Corpus Christi, Tex./London) rolled a 985 for 5 games for a 197.0 average to finish 28th.

Notables

• The Polar Bears were fifth after the 5 team games with 4.930 pins, an average of 198.5 per game.
• Northern then rolled a 970 (194.0 ave) for 5 baker games.
• Concordia (Mich.) won the team title with 6481 pins, Lawrence Tech (Mich.) was second with 6176 pins and Ohio State was third with 6018 pins.
• This was the ninth of 10 events for Ohio Northern in its second season.
