Men's Bowling posts best league finish to date, ends 12th of 17 at Ohio Bowling Conference IV meet

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Northern men's bowling team posted its best league finish in program history, placing 12th of 17 teams at Ohio Bowling Conference IV meet on Saturday at Palace Lanes.
ONU has now finished 17th, 16th, 13th and 12th in its four OBC appearances under first-year head coach Jeff Robinson in its inaugural season.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished 12th of 17 teams with 6,277 pins.
- Venue: Palace Lanes — Columbus, Ohio
The Tournament
- ONU defeated Tiffin (6214), Mount Vernon Nazarene (6196), Kent State (6192), Cincinnati (6178
) and Kent State-Trumbull (6128). - The tournament consisted of four team games and 16 Baker games.
- Individually, freshman Lukas Dunbar (Orient/Teays Valley) knocked down 714 pins to finish 38th of 100 with a high game of 214 an average of 182.3.
- Freshman Nolan Caban (Dayton/Centerville) had a high game of 207 and an average of 178.5
- Freshman Julian Calvelage (Elida/Delphos Jefferson) had an average of 174.3 with a high game of 220.
- Northwestern Ohio won the team title with 7437 pins.
Notables
- This was the eighth of 10 events for Ohio Northern in its inaugural season.
- First-year head coach Jeff Robinson leads the Polar Bears.
