Men's Basketball picks up 85-74 Senior Day victory over Marietta

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team got out to a hot start and never looked back on Senior Day as they defeated Marietta 85-74.
The Basics:
- Records: Ohio Northern (12-11 overall, 6-10 OAC), Marietta (10-13 overall, 4-12 OAC).

The Game
- Junior Will Miller (Ottoville) led the Polar Bears with 18 points.
- Sophomore Carter Reese (Westerville/South) added 17 points and also dished out 5 assists.
- Senior Blake Michael (Fremont/St. Joseph Central Catholic) pitched in 12 points and grabbed 5 boards.
- Sophomore Jadi Cunningham Jr. (Westerville/North) contributed 10 points.
- Frank Waganfeald led the Pioneers with 22 points.
- Ohio Northern took an early lead behind a hot 11-0 start.
- Northern never looked back as they wouldn't trail at all in the entire game.
- A made layup by Cunningham Jr. marked ONU's biggest lead at 62-40 with 4:22 gone in the 2nd half.
- MC cut the lead down to 72-64 on a made layup by De'Ovion Price with 6:21 to play, but a jumpshot by Miller 34 seconds latr would steal the momentum back to ONU and they would control the game from there.
- ONU led 47-38 at the half.
- Ohio Northern was 31-of-51 from the floor for 60.8 percent and made 15-of-27 three-pointers for 55.6 percent, while Marietta finished 26-of-58 from the field for 44.8 percent and 10-of-25 from three-point range for 40.0 percent.
- ONU made 8-of-13 free throws for 61.5 percent and MC was 12-of-17 from the foul line for 70.6 percent.
- The Polar Bears out-rebounded the Pioneers 32-28.
