Reese scores 24 as Men's Basketball notches fourth straight home victory with 84-67 decision over Wilmington

ADA — Sophomore Carter Reese (Westerville/North) paved the way with 24 points as the Ohio Northern men's basketball team posted a 84-67 victory over Wilmington at home Wednesday night in Ohio Athletic Conference.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (9-3 overall, 3-2 OAC), Wilmington (2-10 Overall, 0-5 OAC).

The Game
- Reese led the Polar Bears with 24 points.
- Sophomore Jadi Cunningham Jr. (Westerville/South) added 16 points, dished out 8 assists and brought in 6 rebounds.
- Junior Will Miller added 12 points and had 5 steals.
- Senior Blake Michael (Fremont/St. Joseph Central Catholic) added 11 points and snagged 7 boards.
- Obed Achirem led the Quakers with 12 points.
- Northern would use an 11-0 run to snap a 26-all tie and grab a 37-26 lead with 2:50 left in the half.
- Miller would cap the half off with a deep three pointer to give Northern a 44-29 lead.
- Achriem opened the second half with two three-pointers to cut the lead to 44-35 with 56 seconds gone in the period.
- The Polar Bears would then answer right back with a 14-0 run to extend their lead to 58-35 with 14:40 left in the game.
- Northern would take its biggest lead of the night at 81-53 with 4:18 remaining on a pair of made free throws by junior Mason Studer (Galion/Colonel Crawford).
- Ohio Northern was 28-of-54 from the floor for 51.9 percent and made 9-of-24 three-pointers for 37.5 percent, while Wilmington finished 27-of-51 from the field for 52.9 percent and 7-of-15 from three-point range for 46.7 percent.
- ONU made 19-of-22 free throws for 86.4 percent and WU was 6-of-7 from the foul line for 85.7 percent.
- The Polar Bears out rebounded the Quakers 32-19.
