Men's Basketball falls at #3 John Carroll in OAC opener

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team fell 89-65 at 3-ranked John Carroll in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Saturday at the DeCarlo Center.

The Game

• Sophomore Will Miller (Ottoville) scored 11 points to lead the Polar Bears.
• Sophomore Mason Studer (Galion/Colonel Crawford) and freshmen Cayden Jacoby (Pettisville) and Brady Woodall (Centerville/Dayton Christian) chipped in 9 points each for ONU.
• John Carroll jumped to a 16-7 lead and did not trail in the contest.
• The JCU lead was 47-27 at intermission.
• The Polar Bears played hard until the end, finishing the contest on a 13-0 run as Woodall and freshman Bryce Stuart (Lucasville/Valley) combined for all 13 points in the run.
• Ohio Northern made 23-of-57 field goal attempts for 40.4%, including a 9-of-27 mark from 3-point range for 33.3%.
• John Carroll was 34-of-57 shooting for 59.6% and made 12-of-21 3-pointers for 57.1%.
• ONU was 10-of-16 from the foul line for 62.5%, and JCU was 9-of-17 for 52.9%.
• The Blue Streaks out-rebounded the Polar Bears 32-23.
