Long, Scott score 12 points each as Men's Basketball falls to Heidelberg 82-63

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team wrapped up the home portion of its schedule on Wednesday night with an 82-63 loss to Heidelberg at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 9-15 overall and are 5-12 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Student Princes improve to 17-7, 12-5.
Seniors Landen Long (Mason) and Adam Scott (Wapakoneta) scored 12 points each and senior C.J. Napier (Miamisburg/Bishop Fenwick) chipped in 10 points for ONU.
HU was paced in scoring by Jacob Logsdon with 20 points.
The visitors used a 10-0 run to grab a 10-2 lead six minutes into the game en route to a 40-24 halftime advantage.
Scott scored inside and freshman Will Miller (Ottoville) nailed a pair of free throws as ONU cut the deficit to 44-31 just three minutes into the second half.
A layup by senior Heath Jeffries (Newark/Catholic) with 15:01 to go made it 45-33.
But HU answered with an 8-3 run to push the lead to 53-36 with 12:11 remaining, and would hold on the victory.
Ohio Northern was 21-of-59 from the floor for 35.6 percent and was 7-of-17 from 3-point range for 41.2 percent, while Heidelberg made 29-of-60 field goals for 48.3 percent and was a blistering 14-of-26 from beyond the arc for 53.8 percent.
ONU was 14-of-20 from the foul line for 70.0 percent, and HU was 10-of-13 for 76.9 percent.
Heidelberg out-rebounded Ohio Northern 40-32.
The Polar Bears wrap up their season on Saturday at Muskingum at 2 pm in the first game of a men's/women's double header.
