Senior Joey DiOrio named Div. III First Team Academic All-District 7 by College Sports Information Directors of America

ADA — The College Sports Information Directors of America have recognized Ohio Northern senior Joey DiOrio (Columbus/Watterson) as a member of the First Team Academic All-District 7 team for his efforts this season on the court and in the classroom.
The 2017-18 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in March.
A Mechanical Engineering major, DiOrio earned his first career CoSIDA Academic All-District honor.
The senior is currently third on the team with 12.8 points per contest and ranks second on the team with 76 made 3-point field goals.
DiOrio also leads the team and ranks third in the Ohio Athletic Conference, shooting .455 from 3-point range.
The Polar Bears return to action this evening during the semifinals of the OAC Tournament as they travel to Marietta to take on the No. 2-seeded Pioneers at 8 pm at Ban Johnson Arena.
