Junior Konnor Baker records his first career double-double as Men's Basketball falls to Trine (Ind.) 78-72

ADA — Junior Konnor Baker posted his first career double-double to lead Ohio Northern in a 78-72 men's basketball loss to Trine (Ind.) Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 5-7 on the season, while the Thunder improve to 10-1.
Baker had a career-high 10 rebounds to go with 11 points in the game.
Freshman Ryan Bruns scored 17 points, junior Devon Allen scored 15 points, junior Aron Thress added 11 points and junior Joey Hurless dished out nine assists for ONU.
Trine was led by Jared Holmquist with 23 points and 10 rebounds, Will Dixon with 20 points and Kyle Dodson with 17 points.
Allen got the Polar Bears off to a quick start, nailing four 3-pointers, as ONU raced to a 20-10 lead in the first eight minutes of the game.
But the Thunder answered with a 13-2 run to take a 23-22 lead at the 6:19 mark of the first half.
Northern opened the second half on a 10-4 run to take a 44-42 lead with 15:45 left.
A basket by Bruns gave ONU a 50-48 lead with 11:59 to play.
Trine scored the game's next five points and eventually extended its lead to 71-61 with 5:09 remaining.
A basket by Baker got ONU within 71-66 at the 3:16 mark, and a tip-in by sophomore Travis Feitshans made it 73-68 with 2:26 to go.
But TU would score the next five points to go up 78-68 with 39 seconds left and held on for the win.
Ohio Northern made 23-of-55 field goal attempts for 41.8 percent and was 5-of-18 from 3-point range for 27.8 percent.
Trine made 29-of-60 shots from the floor for 48.3 percent and was 11-of-24 from beyond the arc for 45.8 percent.
Northern won the rebounding battle by a 40-27 margin, led by Baker's 10 boards.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday at No. 8-ranked Marietta.
