Senior Scott Schnelle named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in Men's Basketball for third consecutive year

ADA — Ohio Northern senior center Scott Schnelle (New Bremen) was named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men's Basketball for 2011-12 in voting conducted by the league's 10 faculty advisors.
Schnelle has now received the honor all three years in which he has been eligible.
A mechanical engineering major, Schnelle is also a two-time All-OAC honoree, earning Second Team honors in 2012 and First Team kudos in 2011.
This season, Schnelle led the Polar Bears in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and blocked shots (44) and was second in scoring at 12.6 ppg.
He ended his career ranked 34th all-time at ONU with 1,057 points in 106 career games.
Schnelle is also fourth in blocked shots (125), fifth in field goal shooting percentage (.553), 11th in made free throws (311) and 15th in rebounding (602).
Ohio Northern finished the 2011-12 with a 14-14 record, finished sixth in the OAC regular season standings with an 8-10 mark and reached the semifinals of the OAC Tournament under third-year head coach John Rhodes.
