Football falls to No. 3-ranked Mount Union 42-13

ADA — Ohio Northern fell to No. 3-ranked Mount Union 42-13 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (4-3 Overall, 3-3 OAC), #3 Mount Union (7-0 Overall, 6-0 OAC)
- Venue: Dial-Roberson Stadium - Ada, Ohio.
The Game
- Junior Louie Blasiole (Mantua/Crestwood) led the Polar Bears with 63 yards rushing on 19 carries.
- Sophomore Jordan Pettaway (Oregon/Clay) ran 12 times for 47 yards.
- Junior Sam Feldman (Springboro) completed 14-of-31 passes for 181 yards and a TD and ran 10 times for 41 yards.
- Feldman connected with sophomore Seth Borondy (Bellbrook) on a 17-yard TD pass to pull ONU within 14-7 with 1:55 left in the first half.
- Senior Jonmichael Elliott (Richmond, Va./Clover Hill) kicked a 42-yard field goal with 11:03 left in the third to get ONU within 21-10.
- Elliott then nailed a 32-yard field goal with 9:53 left in the game to make it 28-13.
- The Purple Raiders then scored twice in the final five minutes to put the game away.
- Mount Union was led by Tyler Echeverry with 106 yards and one TD on 21 carries. He also caught four passes for 10 yards nd two more scores.
- Defensively, junior Cooper Braden (Orange City, Fla./University) had 11 tackles and senior All-American Dalton Tjong (Cumming, Ga.) had 10 tackles.
- The Purple Raiders out-gained the Polar Bears in total offense 344-312.
Notables
- UMU leads the series between the two schools by a 52-13-1 margin. UMU leads the series 26-7 in Ada.
- Today's game was the seventh of 10 in the 130th season of football at Ohio Northern. Ohio Northern is now 562-524-36 all-time, a winning percentage of .516.
- Pettaway has gained 721 yards this season on just 76 carries. He entered the game leading the nation with an average of 10.5 yards per carry and now has a hefty 9.5 yards per rush.
