Senior Ed Manning named OAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Ed Manning (Sanford, Fla./Seminole) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 30 to Nov. 5.

This marks Manning's first career OAC Player of the Week accolade.

The recognition comes after he blocked a field goal and an extra point in ONU's 49-6 win over Otterbein on Saturday.

He also tallied six tackles on defense from his defensive back position.

For the season, Manning has 49 tackles (26 solo, 23 assisted) to go with two tackles for loss and eight pass breakups.

He has 118 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions and 19 pass breakups in 32 career games at ONU.

The Polar Bears (3-6 overall, 3-5 OAC) return to action on Saturday at 2 p.m. for their final game of the season at OAC foe Wilmington.
