ADA — Head coach Dean Paul has announced new additions to the Ohio Northern football coaching staff as assistant coaches Chris Hedden, Drew Rodriguez and Luke Green-Lauber have joined the fold ahead of the 2023 season.
Hedden will serve as the offensive coordinator.
He comes to ONU after a four-year stint at Bowling Green from 2019-22. At BGSU, he coached running backs, tight ends and the offensive line before serving as offensive run game coordinator last fall.
Before going to Bowling Green, Hedden was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Trine from 2015-18.
After four consecutive 6-4 campaigns, he helped the Trine program to back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and a 21-2 mark overall.
Hedden also served as head coach at St. Francis deSales HS in Toledo from 2012-14.
A native of Tiffin, he played football at Ashland in 1990 and 91 before moving to Heidelberg, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in secondary education in 1994.
Rodriguez will coach the quarterbacks at Ohio Northern after serving in the same position at Towson University, where he helped lead the team to a 6-5 record in 2022.
Rodriguez had been with Towson since 2019, being promoted to quarterbacks coach beginning in the 2021 season.
With Towson in 2019 as a quality control coach, he helped an offense that scored over 30 points per game and had four All-CAA Second Team selections.
Rodriguez graduated from Florida International University in 2017 with a degree in sports management and then earned his master's degree, also in sports management, in 2018. He now resides in Findlay.
Green-Lauber will serve as the team's strength and conditioning coach.
He comes to ONU after a two-year stint as head performance coach at Donskov Strength and Conditioning in Columbus since May of 2020.
Green-Lauber is a 2020 graduate of Otterbein, where he was a strength and conditioning intern.
He was also a strength and conditioning intern at Miami (Ohio) in the summer of 2019.
Green-Lauber was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference punter at Otterbein, where is graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and health promotion in 2020.
