Football to open 2023 season Sept. 2 at Alma (Mich.)

ADA — The Ohio Northern football team will open its 2023 schedule with a non-conference battle at Alma (Mich.) at on Saturday, Sept. 2, under 20th-year head coach Dean Paul.

The Polar Bears will then spend the next three weeks in the friendly confines of Dial-Roberson Stadium, hosting Capital, Heidelberg and Baldwin Wallace Sept. 9, 16 and 23, respectively.

ONU will then enbark on a three-game road swing at Mount Union on Sept. 30, John Carroll on Oct. 14 and Muskingum on Oct. 21.

Northern will then host Marietta on Oct. 28 as part of Homecoming Weekend.

Ohio Northern will then host Otterbein on Nov. 4 on Senior Day before finishing its regular season Nov. 11 at Wilmington.

Northern's contest with Heidelberg will be the 13th annual Bendekovic Bowl battle.

The Polar Bears posted a 3-7 record and finished seventh in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 3-6 record in 2022.
