Football to open 2022 season Sept. 3 at home against Alma (Mich.)

ADA — The Ohio Northern football team will open its 2022 schedule with a non-conference battle at home against Alma (Mich.) at Dial-Roberson Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 3, under 19th-year head coach Dean Paul.
The Polar Bears will then spend the rest of September on the road, playing at Capital, Heidelberg and Baldwin Wallace Sept. 10, 17 and 24, respectively.
ONU will return home for a three-game homestand beginning Oct. 1 against Mount Union.
After a bye week, Northern will host John Carroll on Oct. 15 and Muskingum on Oct. 22 as part of Homecoming Weekend.
Northern will then play at Marietta on Oct. 29 and at Otterbein on Nov. 5 before finishing its regular season Nov. 5 at home against Wilmington.
Northern's contest with Heidelberg will be the 12th annual Bendekovic Bowl battle.
The Polar Bears posted a 4-6 record and finished seventh in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 3-6 record in 2021.
