Saturday's Contest: Today's contest is the fifth of 10 games in the 2019 season for Ohio Northern. It is also Homecoming Weekend at Ohio Northern. ONU is 538-499-36 in 125 seasons of play, a winning percentage of .518.

Last Year's Game: Marietta converted a 2-point conversion with 22 seconds left to rally past Ohio Northern 43-42 at Marietta. QB Anthony McFadden completed 18-of-29 passes for 261 yards and 4 TDs and WR Chad Rex caught 10 passes for 156 yards and 2 TDs for ONU. RB Brock Martin ran 12 times for 100 yards and two scores for ONU. The Pioneers were led by QB Darrien Fields, who threw for 315 yards and 4 TDs, and RB Tanner Clark, who ran 34 times for 180 yards and two scores. The two teams combined for 1,039 yards, including 569 in the first half. With the score tied in the fourth quarter, the Polar Bears marched 87 yards in 14 plays, took 6:18 off the clock and went up 42-35 with 4:45 left to play on a 3-yard run by Martin. Marietta then marched 70 yards in 13 plays and scored with 22 seconds left to pull within 42-41. Fields then hit Clark on the 2-point conversion to make it 43-42.

ONU Last Week:  Ohio Northern built a 31-13 halftime lead and held on for a 45-35 victory over Otterbein on Saturday night at Dail-Roberson Stadium. QB Anthony McFadden was an 15 of 24 for 250 yards and 4 TDs passing. WR Austin Eick paced the receiving group with 3 receptions for 93 yards and a TD. WR Chase Rose had 2 catches for 83 yards and 2 scores, while RB All-American Christiaan Williams ran 12 times for 146 yards and a TD. LB Mark Niles paced Northern's defensive unit, matching a career-high with 15 total tackles and 2 sacks. DE Josh Bever and LB Cairo Smith logged 11 and 10 tackles, respectively. ONU out-gained OU 436-424 in total offense.

RB Tanner Clark scored touchdowns 14 second apart as MC regained the lead in the second quarter. Clark ran 39 times for 214 yards and 3 TDs to lead the Pioneer offense. Muskingum out-gained Marietta 463-342 in total offense..
