Last Year's Game: QB Anthony McFadden ran for a career-high 112 yards and threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns to lead ONU to a 42-14 victory over Muskingum on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium. The Polar Bears also got 81 yards rushing and a TD from RB A.J. Marks and 44 yards rushing and 3 TDs from RB Brock Martin. The Muskies were led by QB Brody Hahn with 88 yards rushing and 199 yards passing. After a 3-and-out to start the game, ONU scored touchdowns on three consecutive drives to take a 21-7 halftime lead. Northern then scored on its first 3 second half possessions to put the game away. ONU out-gained MU 459-422 in total offense.
ONU Last Week: The Ohio Northern football team opened its 2019 season with a 42-13 non-conference loss at Denison. The Polar Bears opened the scoring on the second play of the second quarter when QB Anthony McFadden hit WR Austin Eick on a 6-yard pass to go ahead 6-0. The Big Red answered with 3 TDs, including two in the final 3:04 of the half, to take a 21-6 lead into intermission. DU scored just 1:28 into the second half and went ahead 35-6 on a fifth TD at the 14:12 mark of the 4th quarter to put the game away. All-American RB Christiaan Williams ran 18 times for 59 yards and McFadden was 9-for-17 passing for 100 yards and ran 20 times for 64 yards and a score to lead the ONU offense.
