ADA — The Ohio Northern football team will open its 2019 schedule on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Denison under 16th-year head coach Dean Paul.
The opener will be the first non-conference regular season game against a Division III school from Ohio since a 55-0 victory at Bluffton in 1997.
The Polar Bears will play their first three games on the road, with trips to Muskingum and Wilmington to follow on Sept. 14 and 21, respectively.
ONU will open the home portion of its schedule on Sept. 28 against Otterbein and will host Marietta on Oct. 5 as part of Homecoming Weekend.
Northern will then travel to John Carroll on Oct. 19 and host Capital on Oct. 26.
The month of November begins with a road game at Mount Union on Nov. 2, followed by the final two games of the season at home with Baldwin Wallace on Nov. 9 and home with Heidelberg on Nov. 16.
Northern's contest with Heidelberg will also be Senior Day at ONU and is the annual Bendekovic Bowl battle.
The Polar Bears posted a 5-5 record and were 4-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference in 2018.
