ADA - Junior linebacker David Haseleu (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) has been tabbed the OAC Football Defensive Player of the Week with the release of the league's weekly awards listing Monday afternoon.
In the football team's recent 49-16 triumph over OAC foe Wilmington, the junior notched his first career interception, which he returned for a 37-yard pick-six, in the fourth quarter.
Haseleu also recorded six total tackles in the contest, including a sack and a tackle for loss.
This marks the first time in Haseleu's career that he has received the weekly defensive honor. Additionally, he is the first Ohio Northern football student-athlete to garner a Player of the Week award in the 2018 season.
The Polar Bears are set to return to action Saturday, September 22 as they travel to Otterbein. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. from Memorial Stadium in Westerville.
