Sophomore Christiaan Williams named Football OAC Offensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Christiaan Williams (Sidney/Anna) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 7.

In Northern's 51-21 victory over Capital on Saturday evening at Dial-Roberson Stadium, Williams broke a 17-year old single game rushing record, compiling 407 yards on 29 rushes.

The sophomore also added three touchdowns in the victory as he broke Ohio Northern Hall of Famer Jamal Robertson's previous single game record of 307 rushing yards.

Williams also caught one pass for five yards, breaking Robertson's single game all-purpose yards record of 406 yards also set in 2000.

Northern will return to action on Saturday afternoon as it travels to John Carroll to take on the Blue Streaks at 1:30 pm in Don Shula Stadium.
