Football receives votes in first weekly D3football.com poll

ADA — The Ohio Northern football team received votes in the first weekly D3football.com preseason poll, released on Sunday.
The Polar Bears (1-0 overall) received seven points in the poll, four fewer than the 11 they received in the D3football.com preseason poll on July 10.
This marks the 14th time in the last 16 seasons that the Polar Bears have been been mentioned in a national poll.
A year ago, Northern was ranked No. 22 in the preseason D3football.com poll.
The Polar Bears opened their 2017 season on Sept. 2 with a 35-31 victory at Adrian (Mich.) and will return to action Sept. 16 when they host Heidelberg at 1:30 pm at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
