Magazine, Price lead list of 12 Polar Bears named All-OAC in Football for 2015

ADA — Ohio Northern seniors Justin Magazine and Devon Price lead a list of 12 Polar Bears that were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in football for 2015 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
Magazine received the Bob Packard Award as the OAC's most outstanding offensive back and Price was named the Ed Sherman Award winner as the league's top receiver.
Both men joined senior left tackle Rody Seballos, junior kick returner/receiver Reed Allen and sophomore linebacker Zach Schmerge as First Team All-OAC honorees.
Senior corner back Darnell Bloom, senior center Ethan Joseph, junior punter Kyle Bergman, junior safety Dan Eller and junior tight end Logan Ray were all Second Team All-Conference selections.
Junior defensive linemen Mike Cunningham and Scott Rapps received Honorable Mention All-OAC honors.
Head coach Dean Paul was named the OAC Coach of the Year and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Schmitz was named the OAC Assistant Coach of the Year.
Magazine is now a two-time All-OAC honoree, earning Second Team All-OAC honors as a junior on 2014.
He leads the OAC in rushing this season with 1,474 yards and 24 touchdowns on 261 attempts.
Magazine broke ONU single-season records with 27 touchdowns, 24 rushing touchdowns and 162 points.
In 32 career games, he ranks sixth all-time in ONU history with 2,907 rushing yards and is second all-time with 270 points.
Price is now a three-time All-OAC honoree, earning First Team kudos in 2013 and Second Team honors in 2014.
He leads the OAC this season with 84 receptions for 1,184 yards to go with six touchdowns.
Price is ONU's all-time career leader with 239 receptions and 3,168 yards. He also is tops all-time at ONU with 76 kickoff returns for 1,868 yards and is second with 5,474 all-purpose yards.
Seballos is making his first appearance on the All-OAC squad and is a two-time Academic All-Conference honoree.
He has played in 33 career games with 31 starts at left tackle.
Allen was named First Team All-OAC as a kick returner, but is also a standout receiver for the Polar Bears.
This season, he has 24 kickoff returns for 541 yards and a 91-yard touchdown and is averaging 22.5 yards per return.
He also has 15 punt returns for 123 yards, has caught 29 passes for 593 yards and five touchdowns and has 1,257 all-purpose yards.
In his 25-game career, Allen has 55 receptions for 1,115 yards and 13 TDs and has 1,779 all-purpose yards.
He is making his first appearance on the All-OAC squad.
Schmerge led the Polar Bears in tackles as a middle linebacker with 106 in his first season as a starter.
He also has 5.5 tackles for loss and a half a sack.
Schmerge was named the OAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season, registering a career-high 18 tackles against Utica (N.Y.) and Heidelberg in September.
Bloom is now a two-time Second Team All-Conference honoree.
He has a team-high three interceptions, eight PBUs and 17 tackles in seven games this season.
In 27 career games, Bloom has five interceptions, 15 PBUs and five interceptions.
Joseph is a three-year starter at center and is making his first appearance on the All-OAC squad.
He has started 31 consecutive games and has played in 33 games in his career.
Bergman is now a two-time Second Team All-OAC as a punter.
He has a 38.1 yard average for 43 punts this season with 13 punts downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line.
In 26 career games, Bergman has punted 106 times for a 37.6-yard average with 22 punts downed inside the 20.
Eller is making his first appearance on the All-Conference squad and is a two-year starter at safety.
This season, he has started all 11 games and is second on the team with 87 tackles.
In his 25-game career, Eller has 158 tackles and two interceptions.
Ray is a first-year starter at tight end and has played in 25 games in his career.
He caught 12 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns this season, including a 73-yard touchdown catch in ONU's season-opening win over Utica (N.Y.)
Cunningham is a three-year starter at defensive tackle, having started 25 games over the past three seasons.
This year, he has 39 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 11 starts.
Cunningham has 87 tackles, 7.5 TFL and 3.0 sacks in his 27-game career.
Rapps has 67 tackles and a team-high 4.5 sacks in his first season as a starter.
He started the first eight games at defensive end this season before moving inside to tackle the past three games.
In 19 career games, Rapps has 70 tackles, 11.5 TFL and 5.5 sacks.
Paul is 84-39 in his 12-year stint as head coach at Ohio Northern.
He has guided the Polar Bears to the playoffs in both 2010 and 2015 and has led ONU to eight or more wins five times.
Schmitz is in his third season as an assistant coach at ONU.
He came to ONU after a 13-year stint as head football coach at Wooster, where he compiled a 74-54 record.
The Polar Bears are 9-2 on the season and will travel to No. 3-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs on Saturday.
