Saturday's Contest: Saturday's game is the final regular season game for both teams and is Senior Day for Ohio Northern.
Last Year's Game: Ohio Northern extended its winning streak to five games and wrapped up its season with a 34-13 victory at Otterbein. RB Justin Magazine led the Polar Bears with 122 yards rushing and a touchdown on 23 carries. QB Patrick Angle completed 15-of-27 passes for 192 yards and two scores and LB Dillon Kwiat led the ONU defense with seven tackles and caught an 18-yard pass on a fake field goal to set up ONU's first score. The Polar Bears got on the board first when Magazine swept in from 5 yards out with 24 seconds left in the first quarter to go up 7-0. K Andrew DiMario gave ONU a 13-3 halftime lead when he made field goals of 32 and 36-yards. He broke the Ohio Northern single-season record with his 10th made field goal of the season. Northern out-gained OU 387-217 in total offense in the game and held OU to just 41 yards of offense in the first half.
ONU Last Week: RB Justin Magazine became the 10th player in Ohio Northern history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season as ONU posted a 55-21 victory at Wilmington. With the victory, ONU clinched its 19th upper division finish in the 10-team OAC in the last 20 seasons. Magazine rushed 19 times for 137 yards and 4 TDs and caught two passes for 45 yards and a TD to finish the day with 192 all-purpose yards and 5 TDs. Magazine entered the game with 980 yards and now has 1,117 on the season. QB Ricardo Johnson completed 15-of-24 passes for a career-high 301 yards and three TDs and ran eight times for 64 yards and another score and WR Devon Price caught six passes for 128 yards and a score to lead the ONU offense. Northern scored three times in the first quarter to take a 20-0 lead. ONU led 27-0 at halftime and 48-7 after three periods. Ohio Northern had 524 yards of total offense, while holding the Quakers to 365 yards. CB Will Bodden had two interceptions and blocked a punt to lead the ONU defense.
ONU Leaders: The ONU running game is led by All-OAC RB Justin Magazine (200 att, 1117 yards, 16 TDs) and QB Ricardo Johnson (33 att, 267 yards, 6 TDs). QB Will Freed has completed 105-of-186 passes for 1,584 yards and 10 TDs and QB Ricardo Johnson has completed 42-of-63 passes for 652 yards and 8 TDs. WR Devon Price (70 rec., 954 yards, 5 TDs) and WR Reed Allen (25 rec, 559 yards, 5 TDs) lead the ONU receivers. LB Zach Schmerge, S Dan Eller and LB Trent Stout lead the ONU defense with 90, 74 and 67 tackles, respectively. DE Kyle Beverly leads ONU with 3.5 sacks.
OU Last Week: Otterbein built an early 13-0 lead, but #15 John Carroll scored the next 42 points in a 42-13 victory to spoil Senior Day at Otterbein. QB Kevan Green completed 19-of-31 passes for 201 yards and a TD and RB John Pyles ran 13 times for 40 yards and a score to lead the OU offense. Green hit WR Logan Stepp on a 21-yard TD pass to give OU a 7-0 lead with 8:12 gone in the game. Pyles then ascored on a 3-yard run and the Cardinals led 13-0 one play into the second quarter. But JCU rallied to take a 21-13 halftime lead and led 28-13 after three periods. JCU outgained OU 423-263 in total offense.
OU Leaders: The OU running game is led this season by RB John Pyles (92 att., 517 yards, 4 TDs) and RB Speedy Hammond (54 att, 177 yards). QB Kevan Green is 149-of-236 passing for 1691 yards and 15 TDs. WR Julian Lowe (70 rec., 822 yards, 12 TDs) and WR Logan Stepp (28 rec., 350 yards, 3 TDs) lead the OU receivers. DB Tarrell Starckey, LB Nick Williams, and DL David Henry lead the OU defense with 84, 76 and 62 tackles, respectively. DL David Henry leads OU with 5 sacks.
