Sophomore Zach Schmerge named OAC Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Zach Schmerge was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in ONU's 29-22 victory over Utica, N.Y.

The sophomore recorded a career-high 16 tackles in just his second career start as a Polar Bear.

He posted 10 solo tackles and six tackle assists to lead Ohio Northern.

Schmerge earns his first OAC Player of the Week honor.

The Polar Bears return to action Saturday at 7 pm as they welcome Baldwin Wallace to Dial-Roberson Stadium.
