Football drops 47-0 decision to John Carroll

ADA — Junior linebacker Dillon Kwiat had a career-high 16 tackles to lead Ohio Northern in a 47-0 football loss to No. 16-ranked John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 3-4 overall and are 2-4 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Blue Streaks remain undefeated at 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the OAC.
Junior Patrick Angle completed 7 of 22 passes for 67 yards and sophomore Justin Magazine ran 10 times for 36 yards to lead the ONU offense.
Tommy Michals ran 22 times for 132 yards and three touchdowns, Mark Myers completed 27 of 37 passes for 321 yards and a score and Aramis Greenwood caught 15 passes for 185 yards and one TD for JCU.
Angle hit junior Justin McCray on a 43-yard pass down the sideline to set up a Polar Bear scoring opportunity in the third quarter, but sophomore Andrew DiMario had his 38-yard field goal attempt partially blocked and fell just short of the crossbar.
The Blue Streaks scored on theirn first possession of the game when Myers hit Greenwood on a 31-yard TD pass 2:39 into the contest.
JCU would lead 10-0 after one period, 27-0 at halftime and 34-0 after three quarters.
Senior Ryan Reid had a career-high 10 tackles and a pass break up for the ONU defense, as well.
The Polar Bears will take to the road for the next two weeks, playing at Muskingum on Nov. 2 and at Wilmington on Nov. 9, before wrapping up its season Nov. 16 at home at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
All three games are 1:30 pm kickoffs.
