ALLIANCE -- The Ohio Northern football team dedicated Bill Robinson Field on a warm Saturday afternoon at Dial Roberson Stadium.
The Polar Bears (2-2 overall, 1-2 Ohio Athletic Conference) fell to top-ranked Mount Union (4-0 overall, 3-0 OAC) 58-7.
Junior Patrick Angle led the Ohio Northern offense, completing 17-of-29 passes for 106 yards.
Sophomore William Bodden rushed 10 times for 32 yards and a score for ONU.
Defensively, junior Dillon Kwiat had 13 tackles and senior Josh Bryan had 12 tackles for Ohio Northern.
Mount Union was led by Kevin Burke, who completed 18-of-21 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns and ran eight times for 62 yards.
The Purple Raiders scored on a 12-yard pass from Burke to Jack Nicholls, a 1-yard run by Germany Woods and a 36-yard interception return by Tre Jones to lead 20-0 after the first period.
Touchdown passes to Lane Clark, Nicholls and Brian Gainer and a 25-yard field goal by Edward Ruhnke put MtU ahead 44-0 at halftime.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday with a road contest at Baldwin Wallace.
