Football raises $2,312 for area VFW on Veterans Appreciation Day

ADA — Ohio Northern University head football coach Dean Paul (far left) presents Commander Chuck Keller (second to the left) of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Ohio, a check for $2,312 after the ONU football team raised the money from an auction of camouflaged jerseys worn during the team's game on September 15, which was tabbed Veterans Appreciation Day.
Also pictured are Kevin Weslosky (15), a senior pharmacy major from Troy, Mich., and Mike King (95), a senior social studies major from Lodi, Ohio.
The Polar Bears wore camouflaged jerseys in their game against Heidelberg and auctioned them off after the game to raise funds.
There were several special ceremonies before the game, including a F-16 flyover and a presentation for each of the branches of the United States Armed Services.
