No. 1 Mount Union tops Football in Ohio Athletic Conference battle

ALLIANCE -- No. 1-ranked Mount Union posted a 54-0 football victory over Ohio Northern at Saturday afternoon at Mount Union Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 1-3 overall and are 1-2 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Purple Raiders improve to 4-0, 3-0.
Senior Tate Humphrey was 9-of-14 passing for 37 yards and junior Tyler Rue was 2 of 6 passing for 86 yards to lead the ONU offense.
Senior Justin Wilson caught five passes for 27 yards and senior Anthony Fletcher caught four passes for a career-high 97 yards to lead the ONU receivers.
Wilson extends his streak of consecutive games with at least one reception to 14.
MtU scored on nine of its first 10 possessions to pull away.
The Purple Raiders out-gained ONU 493-147 in total offense.
Senior Joe Powell had a game-high 10 tackles to lead the Polar Bear defense.
Kevin Burke completed 16 of 22 passes for 238 yards and a score to lead MtU.
The Polar Bears will return home next Saturday with a 1:30 pm contest against No. 9-ranked Baldwin Wallace at Dial-Roberson as part of Ohio Northern's Homecoming Weekend.
