ADA — The third annual Ohio Army National Guard Senior Bowl will have a great deal of Ohio Northern flavor.
ONU head coach Dean Paul and his coaching staff will coach the North all-star squad, which will have four Polar Bears on it.
Wide receiver Jay Priest, offensive lineman Pat Dochenetz, defensive end Trygve Henrikson and linebacker Zack Click will also represent ONU in the game.
The annual game pits teams comprised of college seniors from Ohio's 41 football playing schools divided into North and South teams and will kickoff on April 13 at Columbus Crew Stadium and is organized by OhioCollegeFootball.com.
Paul and his ONU staff will coach the North squad, while Denison head coach Jack Hatem and his staff will coach the South group.
"It is a tremendous honor to combine with the Ohio National Guard and be a part of this first-class event," Paul said. "Everything about this game is first-class. It will be fun to coach a few of our guys one more time and I know that our players are excited of this opportunity to put the pads on one more time."
Priest caught 19 passes for 148 yards in just six games in an injury-plagued senior season.
He ended his career ranked seventh all-time at ONU with 92 receptions for 828 yards and four touchdowns.
Dochenetz started all 10 games on the offensive line for ONU and was a three-year starter at right tackle for the Polar Bears.
Henrikson was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree this fall after registering 45 tackles at defensive end.
He ended his career with 30 starts, registering 135 tackles (67 solo), 9.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss.
Click was a two-year starter at outside linebacker and had 63 tackles and two interceptions this season.
In his four-year career at ONU, Click had 159 tackles (68 solo), four sacks, six TFL, two interceptions and six PBUs.
Paul is 58-24 in his eight seasons as head coach of Ohio Northern and he led ONU to the 2010 NCAA Division III Playoffs.
This season, the Polar Bears were 6-4 and posted their 15th consecutive upper division finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 5-4 mark.
