Ohio Northern celebrates Black History Month: Michael Jones

Michael Jones served as an assistant football and head women's tennis coach for Ohio Northern from 1995-2000.

Jones served as defensive coordinator and also coached linebackers, the defensive line and special teams and for the ONU football teams for six seasons.

The Polar Bears gridders were 40-15 during his six seasons and posted a 3-2 playoff record in 1999 and 2000.

Under his defense, Northern reached the NCAA Playoff quarterfinals in 1999 and played in the second round in 2000.

He also guided the Polar Bear women's tennis teams for five seasons from 1996-2000.

Under Jones' tutelage, the Ohio Northern netters posted a 55-32 record over his five campaigns, including a 15-1 record in the spring of 1998.
