Izzy Burman, Selby Wilt named Polar Bears of the Month for January

ADA — Junior Izzy Burman (Benton Ridge/Liberty Benton) and sophomore Selby Wilt (Findlay) have been selected as the Ohio Northern athletic department's Polar Bear of the Month award winners for January.
The award is given monthly to the student-athletes who best represent Ohio Northern University inside and outside of athletics within their given sport and season.
Burman, an accounting major and thrower for the women's track and field team, broke the school record and won for the weight throw with a mark of 16.76m at the 5th Annual Larry Cole home meet on Jan. 19.
She also won and broke both the facility and meet record at the Muskingum Meet #3 with a mark on 16.72m in the weight throw on Jan. 27.
Burman is currently ranked first in the Ohio Athletic Conference for weight throw based on best marks of the season thus far and is ahead of the second place ranking by 1.29m.
Wilt, a computer engineering major, competes in freestyle sprinting events for the men's swimming and diving team, won four individual races and was on two winning relay teams in the month of January.
He won the 50 yard free twice with times of :21.52 and :21.28.
Wilt also won the 100 back twice with times of :53.89 and :53.21.
He was also a part of two winning relays at Baldwin Wallace.
Wilt currently is ranked first OAC in the 50 free, is fourth in the 100 free and 100 back based on season best times.
