School-record 76 student/athletes named Academic All-OAC in six fall sports

ADA — A school record 76 Ohio Northern student/athletes were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in the six fall sports for 2023.

The ONU women's soccer and men's cross country teams had school records with its number of Academic All-OAC honorees.

Women's soccer led the league with 17 honorees and men's cross country tied its previous high mark with a league-best 15 selections.

Football had 19 players named Academic All-OAC, while men's soccer topped the league with 11 honorees.

Volleyball had eight award winners and women's cross country had six.

The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.50.

Fourteen award winners were making their maximum third appearance on the list.

Thirty-three of the 74 have earned the honor for the first time.

Ohio Northern's 76 honorees ranked first in the 10-team league, edging John Carroll (72) and Mount Union (61) for the most award winners.

It was also two more than the school record of 74 Academic All-OAC honorees ONU had last fall.

It also marks the fourth consecutive year that ONU has exceeded its previous record for the fall sports.

Below is a complete listing of Ohio Northern student-athletes who earned the honor. The asterisk symbol denotes the number of years each student-athlete has been named Academic All-Conference.

Student/athletes may only receive the honor three times during their careers.

In all, 507 student/athletes across the league's 10 schools were honored.
