Bio

Tim Glon is in his 25th year as the director of sports information at Ohio Northern University.

He also serves on the media relations staff of the Bahamas Bowl, an NCAA Division I bowl game owned and operated by ESPN, since 2015.

Glon was the media relations director of Team Stars & Stripes at the Tazon de Estrellas from 2010-17, a Division III football all-star game held each December in Mexico. He was the assistant media relations director for Team USA at the Aztec Bowl, another Division III football all-star game held annually in Mexico, from 2002-07.

Glon was the press officer for Team USA's gold medal-winning squads at the 2014 U-19 World American Football Championship in Kuwait City, Kuwait, and the 2015 World American Football Championship in Canton.

He was also was the lead statistician of the 2008 Hula Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Glon has been involved with international football competition on 23 separate occasions.

A native of West Lafayette, Ind., Glon also has experience with the Pan American Games and NCAA Division I Championships in Men's Basketball, Indoor Track & Field and Women's Volleyball.

Glon has been the media relations director for 22 NCAA Division III Championships events at ONU and has been involved with many other championships events.

He is active in the College Sports Information Directors of America. He has served as vice-chair of the national publications contest committee, and has given numerous presentations at the national CoSIDA convention.

He has also served as the president of the Ohio Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Task Force.

Glon also served an assistant women’s basketball and softball coach at Ohio Northern in 1992 and has experience as a sportswriter at the Lima News and as the Sports Editor of the Van Wert Times Bulletin.

The ONU sports information department has received more than 20 CoSIDA media guide awards during his tenure.

He received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Purdue in 1988 and his master’s degree in athletic administration from Marshall in 1991.

While at Marshall, Glon served as the official scorer for the Huntington Cubs, a minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, in 1990 and 1991.

He resides in Lima with his wife Bobbie and son Harrison (15).
