Monday's Matchup: The Polar Bears will compete in the Washington & Lee Duals after a non-conference road tilt at Manchester (Ind.) on Friday, Dec. 8 ... The Washington & Lee duals mark the final wrestling meet for the Polar Bears in 2017 ... Northern is coming off a 28-16 victory at Manchester (Ind.) ... At 125 pounds, sophomore Seth Transue got the Polar Bears off to a quick start with an 8-4 decision ... After Manchester won at 133, 141 and 149 pound weight classes, ONU stopped the streak at 157 pounds when senior Gavin Nelson won by major decision 15-2 ... ONU was down 13-7 at the midway point of the dual ... Senior Seth Meyer continued the roll at 165 pounds, as he won his match by a major decision 12-1 to draw the team score to 13-11 ... Freshman Jacob Thompson gave the Polar Bears the lead back when he pinned his opponent in 3:48 at 174 pounds ... At 184 pounds, Alex Bair won by technical fall 17-2 in the first period ... In the final bout of the night, sophomore heavyweight Nate Barcaskey pinned his opponent in 2:35 ... Thus far this season, Barcaskey leads the Polar Bears with a 14-2 record and is tied for first on the team with four pins ... Sophomore Seth Transue is second with a 10-6 record and is tied for third on the team with three pins ... Freshman Cash Thompson is tied for third with a 10-7 record and also has four pins.
